Imagine this: you've got an idea for a blog, portfolio, online store, or maybe a business website. You've bought your domain, got your hosting… and suddenly you're stuck. Now what? FTP? Databases? PHP? Relax — you don’t need to be a developer or a tech wizard. With the help of Installatron in the DirectAdmin panel, you can have WordPress up and running in just a few minutes — even if this is your very first time.

This guide will walk you through the process step by step.

Why choose WordPress as your CMS?

CMS platforms power around 72% of all websites with content management systems (W3Techs, 2024). WordPress is the most popular CMS in the world — used by over 43% of all websites. Among websites using a CMS, more than 63% run on WordPress.

WordPress is simple, flexible, and supported by a huge global community. And with Installatron in DirectAdmin, installing it is easier than ever.

What to prepare before getting started?

Before you hit “Install,” make sure you’ve got:

✅ A hosting account with DirectAdmin panel
✅ A domain (e.g., mysite.com)
✅ An SSL certificate (for security and better SEO)
✅ 5 spare minutes (seriously, that’s all you need!)

Installing WordPress via Installatron in DirectAdmin – Step by Step

1. Log in to DirectAdmin

Start by logging in to your DirectAdmin hosting panel using the credentials you received after activation. On the main screen, scroll the left-side menu to the "Extra Features" section (near the bottom), find the Installatron Applications Installer icon, and click to launch it.

2. Select WordPress

Once Installatron opens, you’ll see a list of available apps. In the "Content Management" section (bottom of the page), find the WordPress icon — marked with the familiar "W" logo — and click it to begin the installation.

3. Configure the installation

After selecting WordPress, click "Install this application" to open the setup form.

  • Location – Choose your domain from the dropdown list (e.g., https://mysite.com). Leave the “Directory” field empty to install WordPress in the root folder, or enter a folder name (e.g., blog) to install it at https://mysite.com/blog.
  • Version – The installer will preselect the latest WordPress version. You can leave it as is.
  • Settings – Configure the following:
    1. Admin Username – Enter a username or use the auto-generated one.
    2. Admin Password – Create a strong password (or use our password generator).
    3. Admin Email – Enter your email address (e.g., admin@mysite.com).
    4. Website Title – Give your website a name (e.g., My Site).
    5. Automatic Updates – Enable automatic updates for WordPress, themes, and plugins. We recommend enabling all options for security.
